Now Hiring - Assistant Farm Manager (Youth Coordinator)
Reports to: Alfred Melbourne, Executive Director
Hourly Wage: $20-$25/hour
Employment Classification: Part-Time and Non-Exempt. Up to 30 hours per week.
The Assistant Farm Manager, in conjunction with the Farm Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a Community Sponsored Farm. The Assistant Farm Manager acts on behalf of the farm manager in their absence.
Responsibilities
Farm Responsibilities:
Understands and implements the farm’s crop plan and related records.
Performs greenhouse activities, including seeding and transplant care.
Performs general maintenance work on farm property and equipment.
Assists in the distribution and marketing of products through farm sales and farmers’ markets sales.
Performs all farm-related tasks, including (but not limited to) field preparation, cultivation, irrigation, foliar feeding, mulching, and harvesting.
Operates all farm equipment.
Assists in the training of field hands.
Interacts with farm staff, volunteers, and farm visitors.
Trained to replace the current Farm Manager if need arises.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises and works side-by-side with farm staff and volunteers as assigned by the farm manager.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Three Sisters Gardens policies and applicable laws.
Youth Program Responsibilities:
Delivers summer youth curriculum lessons and information.
Prepares supplies and equipment for each lesson and cleans up after.
